Robert I. Paller
Robert I. Paller is Of Counsel in the Corporate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
He has particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters.
He is involved on a continuing basis with a number of corporations providing
legal services as general counsel. Mr. Paller is involved extensively in the representation
of private equity funds both on the buy side, as well as the sell side. He has
significant experience in representing companies that are being sold as well as companies
that are acquiring other entities.
A native of Atlanta, Mr. Paller received a B.S. degree in Business Administration
from the University of North Carolina in 1956. He earned his LL.B. degree from
Emory University in 1958. While at Emory he was named the Outstanding Student
in Federal Income Taxation, he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Equity
and was a member of the Law Review staff. Upon graduation, Mr. Paller served in the
United States Air Force for three years as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s
Division before joining the Firm in 1961. Mr. Paller is a member of the Atlanta and
American Bar Associations and the State Bar of Georgia.
