Wm. Parker Sanders
William Parker Sanders is an Associate in the Litigation Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Mr. Sanders has particular expertise in complex business litigation, with a focus on disputes involving antitrust, trade regulation, and False Claims Act issues. He has been involved in class actions, as well as arbitrations with the American Arbitration Association, its International Centre for Dispute Resolution, and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, and he has worked with the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission on numerous matters. Throughout his career, Mr. Sanders has handled numerous state and federal court general litigation disputes across the country involving commercial contracts, warranties, leases, and collections. He also handles non-litigation matters, such as distributorship and Hart-Scott-Rodino merger issues, as well as negotiating and drafting contracts and standard terms and conditions. Mr. Sanders has represented airlines, banks, railroads, leasing companies, restaurants, and manufacturers of automobiles, buses, firearms, 3D printing machines, artificial turf, fuel additives, clothing, carpet, and other products. He is a member of SGR’s Antitrust, Arbitration, and Transportation Practices.
Mr. Sanders is a member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association, the Antitrust and Litigation Sections of the Georgia State Bar, the Georgia Railroad Association, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, Mr. Sanders was appointed to the Criminal Justice Act panel for the Northern District of Georgia. In 2010 and 2011, he was selected as one of the Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Leadership Atlanta recently selected Mr. Sanders as a member of the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2012.
A native of Mississippi, Mr. Sanders received a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from the University of the South in 2000. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane Law School in 2003, where he was a member of the Order of the Barristers, an Administrative Justice on the Moot Court Board, and an editor for the Journal of American Arbitration. While in law school, Mr. Sanders represented indigents through Tulane’s Civil Law Clinic and received a certificate in commercial arbitration. He is admitted to practice in Georgia.
Mr. Sanders is active in the Firm’s pro bono initiatives and received SGR’s Fellowship to Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc. in the Fall of 2005. He has served on the ServiceJuris Hands on Atlanta Steering Committee and currently volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America and the McCallie and Sewanee Alumni Associations.
