Mr. Bailey has developed substantial expertise in the areas of real estate joint ventures and office/industrial/hospitality/resort/retail/multi-family acquisition, development, finance and leasing. Mr. Bailey’s finance experience includes representation of banks and other institutional lenders in the structuring, documentation and closing of various financial vehicles, including senior secured construction financing, securitized loans, syndicated construction loans and mezzanine and other subordinate types of finance.

Mr. Bailey has served as the Chairman of the Board of Management for the Northside YMCA, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Buckhead Christian Ministry, a member of the Board of Directors of Young Life and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia.
Since 1975, Mr. Bailey has assisted lenders with problem loans during four down cycles and has developed substantial experience in the negotiation and structuring of “workouts” involving commercial real estate loans, including five years representing the RTC in the Eastern Region.
A native of Washington, D.C., Mr. Bailey earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with highest honors, from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1970. He earned a law degree, with distinction, from Emory University in 1975 where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi honorary engineering fraternity and the Order of the Coif. While at Emory, he was a member of the editorial board of the Emory Law Journal.
