David H. Peek
David Peek is Counsel in the Tax Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Mr. Peek’s practice concentrates on Federal income, estate planning and gift and represents estates and trusts, corporations and other business organizations. He participates in handling tax consequences of business formations and reorganizations, as well as business acquisitions.
Mr. Peek is a current member of the American Bar and Florida Bar, as well as the Jacksonville Bar. Mr. Peek has served on the Florida Bar Executive Tax Section. He has also served as Chair of the Jacksonville Bar Tax Section. Mr. Peek has earned an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating attainable for legal ability and ethics. He was recently recognized as one of the Florida Super Lawyers in the area of taxation.
Mr. Peek received his B.S.B.A. from the University of Florida in 1975, with honors, where he was also a starting lineman of the Gator football team. He received an advanced degree in Accounting from the University of Florida in 1978 and his law degree from the University of Florida School of Law. Mr. Peek became a Certified Public Accountant in 1978 and received his Masters of Taxation from the Florida School of Law in 1979. He is a Board Certified Tax Lawyer, Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education.
Mr. Peek is involved in his community by having served on the Board of Directors of Family Promises. He also serves as a Trustee of the Lucy Gooding Foundation, one of the largest foundations in Northeast Florida.
