Paul R. Dehmel
Paul R. Dehmel is Counsel in the Litigation Practice in the New York office of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Mr. Dehmel focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and securities-related matters. Mr. Dehmel’s representative cases include defending a majority member of an LLC against claims by the minority member alleging fraud, misrepresentation and corporate usurpation, defending a major petroleum distributor from claims that a nearby explosion was caused by escaped product, defending a purchaser of a large tract of commercial real estate brought by the seller alleging fraud and misrepresentation, prosecuting and defending numerous breaches of non-compete clauses, defending investigations and other inquires by FINRA and investigating and assisting with the defense of white collar criminal proceedings against senior corporate executives.
Mr. Dehmel has broad experience developing and implementing litigation strategy with clients. He approaches each case with diligence and an effort to achieve the best result in the most economical manner possible. He has successfully briefed and argued dispositive motions that have brought a prompt resolution to numerous disputes. When unavoidable, he has assisted with the resolution of cases through trial or alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Mr. Dehmel received his B.A. from the Williams College in 1991. He received his J.D., cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law in 1997. Mr. Dehmel has practiced before the New York and Connecticut state courts and before the U.S. District Court for Connecticut and the Southern District of New York.
