Christopher A. Holland

Christopher A. Holland is a Partner in the Intellectual Property Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.

He assists clients in developing value in their intellectual capital by identifying and protecting various forms of intellectual property. Mr. Holland assists clients in the protection of their inventions through the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. He has represented clients in a variety of technologies, including inventions directed to electrical, electro-mechanical and mechanical subject matters.

Mr. Holland also assists clients in the selection of trademarks and service marks and the protection of those marks through registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He further assists clients in protecting their brands against infringers and cyber squatters through litigation and arbitration.

Mr. Holland received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society. He earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1997. He additionally received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2002. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Holland was a co-op electrical engineer for the Department of Defense in Fort Meade, Maryland. Mr. Holland is a member of the Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee Bars, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is active in the International Trademark Association and the Intellectual Property Section of the Georgia State Bar.

Certifications of Specialization are available to Tennessee attorneys in all areas of practice relating to or included in the areas of Civic Trial, Criminal Trial, Business Bankruptcy, Consumer Bankruptcy, Creditor’s Rights, Medical Malpractice, Legal Malpractice, Accounting Malpractice, Elder Law and Estate Planning.
